AAPICO Hitech’s Annual General Meeting for the Year 2021

AAPICO Hitech Public Company Limited (AH) held the Annual General Meeting for the year 2021 at Amari Watergate Bangkok Hotel on 23rd April 2021. The Meeting was held in strict compliance with the COVID-19 preventative and control measures announced by the Department of Disease Control, the Ministry of Public Health, and the Bangkok Government. Mr. Yeap Swee Chuan – the President and CEO – along with the Company’s directors – Mr. Wichian Mektrakarn and Mr. Kenneth Ng – attended the meeting under the New Normal precautions. In addition, the Company had also arranged for online attendance via VDO Conference for the convenience of other directors and interested shareholders who wanted to join the meeting. In the conclusion of the meeting, the assembly approved of every agenda proposed by the Board of Directors.

The award was presented by Dr. Pakorn Peetathawatchai – the President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand during the SET AWARDS 2020 event which was held at the Stock Exchange of Thailand building on 15th December 2020.

AAPICO Hitech Public Company Limited held grand opening events for its two new showrooms – Mitsubishi Able Motors Pakkret and Mitsubishi Able Motors Pathumthani – on 7th and 8th of November 2020, which will be under the management of Ms. Yeap Xin Yi, the Managing Director.

AAPICO Hitech Public Company Limited was honored by Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, to be a witness of the opening events.

On this occasion, Mr. Morikazu Chokki gave an opening speech, “We have worked closely with the dealer network to strengthen our presence and coverage in Thailand. We aim to serve our customers nationwide via 240 outlets in FY2020. However, our collaboration with the dealers is more than just numbers and coverages. We will continue to enhance service quality and enhance customer satisfaction.”

Mr. Yeap Swee Chuan, President and CEO of AAPICO Hitech also delivered his speech on behalf of Able Motors Company, “This is our first fully owned showrooms. We want to challenge to be the best dealer in Thailand for Mitsubishi.”

AAPICO Hitech Cares for Personnel – Strictly Follows the COVID-19 Preventative Measures

Since the spread of the Corona Virus Infectious Disease (COVID-19) began to increasingly cover more areas and had impacted both business operations and threatened the personnel’s health safeties alike, AAPICO had become aware of the importance of employees’ safeties and hygiene in all sectors. Therefore, the Company had arranged for situation prediction and evaluation, meetings to issue measures in accordance with the Corona Virus Disease Management Center, and strict consideration of laws and regulations and immediate actions accordingly. The Company had set in place measures to prevent the spread of the virus as follows:

Screening and Cleaning

The Company had arranged for screening points around the Company’s entrances and visitors are also required to complete the Corona Infection Risk questionnaires before being allowed into the premises. This is for safety evaluation of both the visitors and the personnel.

In addition, the Company also arranged for cleaning equipment – or hand cleaning gel – and temperature measurement equipment to be stationed around the premises in order to facilitate the employees’ hygiene. As for the cleanliness of the premises, the Company had set strict cleaning procedures by having every location that involve lots of physical contact with the facilities to be cleaned with disinfectant; including office area, meeting rooms, and outside areas which see lots of visitors.

Social Distancing

The Company had arranged for distancing between individuals in all areas, from the entry line at the screening points before entering the premises to the seating distance between employees in the office. Employees are required to wear masks at all times within the premises. Schedules were made for lunch groups to reduce crowding within the canteen, and waiting lines and canteen seats were specifically designated to maintain distancing according to the regulations and prevent infection.

Training

The Company’s subsidiary “AAPICO Training Center” was the representative for providing knowledge on the prevention of Corona virus infection by arranging training sessions for employees on hygiene management, clean hand-washing, right way to put on a mask, and how to conduct oneself within the premises. In addition, public relations were made on various measures and occupational health, in the form of both media and the Company’s online website. Furthermore, the Company had arranged for Hot Line for employees to communicate with the Company in the case that the employee suspects that they are at risk of contacting the disease or in the case that they want some suggestions on how to prevent infection.

Revision of Operations During Emergency

The Company revised the Business Continuity Plan and made adjustments to the risk evaluations of various factors that affect business and stakeholders, while also considered management plan for the case of virus outbreak so that the Company will be able to swiftly handle the situation and proceed with the business operations as normal. In any case, AAPICO has prepared operation
plans for this situation, such as temperature measurement chart, Corona Virus infection prevention policy, communication and collaboration chart in the case that an infected individual was found in the factory area, and permission and declaration form for leaving the lodging area.

AAPICO Hitech Sharing to Fight Back Against COVID-19

For the duration of Corona Virus outbreak in Thailand, the economic stasis caused the Company’s performance to drop. AAPICO therefore must make some adjustment to the business plan in order to continue operating as normal, including stop the operations in some areas and reducing working days and paid the employees for 75% of the normal rates. However, the Company was not indifferent to the emerging problems. “The Pantry of Sharing” project was established to aid the affected personnel in order to set up a medium for sharing of food and essentials, demonstrating the compassion between personnel to personnel and management to personnel in these difficult times by arranging for the purchase of rice, rations, and essentials to be stored in the cabinet which was placed in the employees’ pantry area – starting from 13th May 2020 and last into August.

Success

Until 30th October 2020, AAPICO Group registered zero case of COVID infection, thanks to the good discipline and cooperation of employees and the stringent efforts of the company.

Donate to the medical staff as Phra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya hospital during COVID-19 outbreaks

Even though COVID-19 may have affected the Company’s performance, the vision to become a world-class organization with 4 fundamental values of Happy Customers, Happy Employees, Happy Shareholders, and Happy Public drove AAPICO Hitech to not only places importance on the well-being of the Company’s personnel, but also to provide assistance and support to medical personnel and community. The company donated 585 boxes of food to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital. In any case, should the situation within the country worsens again, the Company is ready to evaluate the situation to further expand the area of assistance.

AAPICO Organizes 2019 QCC Competition

January 18, 2020 – APPICO HITECH organized the 2019 QCC Competition to promote and develop its employees’ skills and capabilities at the AAPICO Training Center.

“The annual quality competition is an important part of sustaining APPICO HITECH’s operation standards and improving the capability of our employees’ skills. This is our commitment to continuously develop and make sustainable success to our businesses,” said Mr. Yeap Swee Chuan, President and Chief Executive Officer, AAPICO HITECH Public Company.

Before the event, there were 5S audit of every company during early January. The judges then selected the best company to receive the awards. There was also KAIZEN exhibition during in this event to show the best KAIZEN practice of every company.

On the event day, Mr. Yeap gave an opening speech followed by QCC Competition and presentations by LRP and TPS team. The event ended with award giving ceremonies for the QCC, Kaizen and 5S winners.

AAPICO Hitech Plc (AAPICO), one of Thailand’s leading auto parts manufacturers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hyojin Autotech Co.,Ltd (Hyojin), Korea and Triumphant Project Management Sdn. Bhd. (TPMSB), Malaysia. Intends to invest in a private limited company to be formed under the law of Thailand to be called “AAPICO HYOJIN AUTOTECH CO., LTD.”. AAPICO capacities can do full body in white assembly lines, jigs and robotic integration.

Hyojin is among top five company with 40 years experience specializing in Assembly Jigs, Cubing and Checking Fixture Design, Manufacturing & Project Implementation in Korea.

TPMSB has 30 years BIW Integration Engineering & Project Management Resource Experience in Malaysia and Indonesia Markets.

The establishment of this Automotive Assembly Jigs Design and Manufacturing in Thailand is to provide competitive advantage to AAPICO for its current and new products. Notwithstanding, the new company will expand into EEC to focus on R&D development on robotic implementation in line with Thailand 4.0, and enhance assembly Jigs quality, cost and delivery to South East Asian OEM. The jigs manufacturing capacity is capable to reach 500 jigs/year in combination of main jigs and sub-assembly jigs.

The investment capital plan of THB 30 million by AAPICO, Hyojin, and TPMSB will hold 55%, 30%, and 15% equity respectively. The initial operation started from October 1, 2019

with AAPICO providing land, factory building and machinery for effective start-up with 14 designers/engineers and 45 technicians. The engineers and technicians will be equipped with new skills to meet customers demand for speed, flexibility and cost competitiveness. Hyojin will provide technology transfer on jigs design and manufacturing know-how and operations standards. TPMSB will provide BIW Integration Engineering expertise & Project Management resource experience.
